Biography:
Born in Moscow, capital of USSR and later Russian Federal Republic... In the age of 12, along with his family, moved to Israel and settled in a small town of Arad near the Dead sea... After accidently switching on WWF Wrestling Challenge on TV, realized this was something I wanted to be a part of... As a teenager got training in Jio Jitsu and Greek-Roman wrestling to prepare for a career as a pro... Originally planned to go to America or Europe to get trained until learning about the Israeli Pro Wrestling Association in mid-2002... Despite being at military service at that time used to go AWOL to attend IPWA's Dojo where I got trained by shootfighter Raanan Tal and later the fed's founder Gery Roif... On July 28 2003, 6 days after being released from Israeli Defense Forces, debuted as "Hotshot" Matt Lyder, bashing the crowd and his opponent for smoking, drinking and listening to rock music and advising them to be a like him, drink orange juice and be the Backstreet Boys' fans... After a few months a face turn followed, but a goodie-2-shoes "Hotshot" couldn't quite make it in the IPWA... In late 2004 lost to Jumping Lee after being superplexed through a table and snapped, blaming the IPWA for weak referying and lack of concern for it's wrestlers' well-being... Emerged in 2005 as "Russian Sickle" Evgeny Lyder, a renegade warrior, now representing Moscow-based Independent Wrestling Federation and threatening to win the IPWA title and leave to Russia with it... Inbetween IPWA shows played Vladimir the Guard in wrestling sitcom "Makkat Medina" ("Country Under Attack") which aired in summer-fall 2005 on Israeli TV.
